Now, just imagine the possibilities if Dassault Systems would make available Solidworks for Mac!!!
Being able to show off my 3D work in a 3D viewer on my phone is a powerful tool. The photo collage feature is a great bonus, fun and easy to use, and the results are always entertaining. I hope version 2 comes with lighting control, hint, hint!
... but, for some reason, I am unable to view my existing profile in the app. Checked online and my profiles still there... checked here to see if anyone had the same problem... Evidently not, so far... Will keep trying, cuz I like the idea behind this app...
The reviewer who said that it doesnt work in 3.1.1 (7C145) is completely wrong, as I can confirm it does.
The controls are very intuitive. The interface is simple and doesnt feel bloated or janckety. Works great and doesnt feel slow like I expected it to.
A well done app although I have yet to find a real reason to use it other than to enjoy other peoples 3D art.
Played a bit with the app, this is funny to place 3D objects on photos. Even my kids played a bit with 3D monsters dropped on their bed!
The 3D objects library is complete.
Some bad moments
This app is worth downloading if you want to view 3D models that are confidential und not allowed to store at the 3DVIA cloud server. The proposed use case is quite outlandish and has nothing to do with daily business challenges.
Furthermore you always need web connection to the 3DVIA server - offline mode is not possible.
I would expect to get an app that is able to view Dassault Systemes proprietary CAD formats CATIA V5, 3DXML, SolidWorks, ... as local or remote files or with direct connection to any DS PLM System (SMARTEAM, ENOVIA V6, VPM, LCA) but no way with DS unspeakable cloud vision and customer ignorance.
I wish you could import existing photos into the app...... quite a fun & remarkable app on my phone & using it with Photoshop on pc..... almost perfect app...... Im hoping for a update....... Currently does not work on iPhone 6s Plus, iPad mini 4 or iPad Pro hoping for update.
Seems not to work on my phone. Crashes on the splash screen. Too bad. Seems interesting. Two stars for the idea. We need more apps like this (but which function).
The app is a great idea, but is limited in many ways. You can only place one 3D object in a photo at a time and the controls for placing a 3D object is not very intuitive. I wish I could see more features in the next iteration.
I was sad to see that the 3d model did not import into the picture I took with my iPad 2... Do not buy if you expect this to work with your iPad 2. I hope they fix this soon, Im a little ticked about the money I spent. Also, the hd version for the iPad doesnt have a picture taking feature...it only allows you to open and show 3d models... Not very useful and again a waste of cash.
This would get 5 stars, but v1.4.1 causes system crashes on iOS 5.1. Every time I try to enter editing mode from the initial 3D view mode my ipod touch 4 freezes and requires a hard reboot!
